Please comment on the following 3 points;

1) though the current 5 minutes time + 2 eight min songs) works fine for me...you may want to comment on Mikes and my 3 attempts to change this for Mike ...see past threads from myself and Mike... if you dont want to change it - fine - then tell him so he can decide what to bring... It will be hard for him to decide what to bring if you guys dont at least tell him at least yes or no...

2) Brians comments on decade ratios ... i think the mentioned 2/3 1/3 ratio songs reasonable and would be happy w that...

3) please comment on the last round being played at midnight is the final round even if it is round 9...or if you prefer , the last round played is at 12:30 or 1pm if you want ...but lets pick a time limit as otherwise i fear we will go all night. ....... remember the night at Dereks apartment all those years ago for besty albums of all time ..thoughts...?

Hi Stuart (and Mike)

1) I think 5 minutes as maximum and maybe 2 allowed overages, with the ability to forward through any longer songs, will probably accomodate everyone, even the 23 minute song mr. gaines has up his sleeve. Mike, does this work for you? If not, happy to modify so you can plan and bring accordingly.

2) I assume you mean year ratios--a person must play at least 1/3 of his songs from one of his two years. If so, this is accomplished by the 'can't play three songs in a row from the same year' rule. Or at least comes close, in that it forces one to play at least 3 of the 10 songs from one particular year, or just shy of a full 1/3. We could add another rule that requires someone to play at least 4 of the 10 songs from one decade, but I sense that this has been rejected.

If we are indeed talking about decade ratios, where we try to ensure that a certain percentage are played from the 60s or 00s or 70s, this seems unreasonable and too difficult to try to account for in rules. 4 of the years included in the contest are from the 1970s. we can't enforce a percentage limit on the 70s without imposing unfair restrictions on those who have years in that decade.

3) i'm fine with calling it quits at midnight if we think it's dragging. i'd say if we are at Round 9 or higher, then we continue, which would put the finish around 1am. if at Round 8, we tabulate the totals, crack open a beer, toast the victor, and comment on what songs people liked, didn't etc. sound good, Stu-man?
